Mimic Mass have been combing video, voices, live-vocal processing and electronics in studio and site-specific performance situations since 2003. They divorce the lead singer of contemporary popular culture from the band she commonly heads. Voice is simultaneously language and pure sonic texture. Sound, image and text create cycles of transitory moments in an appeal to collective memory—networks in which audiences draw meaning through creative association.
