<p>On Sunday 4th October, New Weird Australia presents <strong>a one-day free, live showcase</strong> &#8211; in celebration of the tenth anniversary of Newcastle&#8217;s <strong>Sound Summit </strong>Festival.  In borrowed terminology, NWA shrinks the notion of distance between genre, taste, Australia’s own vastness and the world. Neither popular nor alternative, one genre nor another, NWA represents a new breed that find refuge in the space between us, played out in realtime around a renewed Newcastle.  Across three spaces and nine hours, eleven bands play live, representing a cross section of New Weird Australian music from New South Wales, Northern Territory, Victoria and Queensland.</p>
